Fort Detrick Lab Assists with Identification of 4,000-year-old Mummy

The National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center (NBACC), a laboratory on the grounds of Fort Detrick, has made a name for itself by analyzing thousands of pieces of evidence in FBI criminal investigations.

But in early 2017, the FBI approached the Frederick-based lab with a different sort of project — the identification of a 4,000-year-old Egyptian mummy head.
