The Frederick community, which includes many people who work for the federal government or contractors, got good news in the huge spending bill that was approved in time to avoid a government shutdown last week.

The best news of all may have been the announcement that the bill included full funding for a biological warfare and terrorism defense center that is a crown jewel of Fort Detrick.
